Biography
Rohit Sharma (born 30 April 1987) is an Indian international cricketer and the current captain of the Indian cricket team in ODI formats. Known for his elegant batting style and ability to hit big scores, he is nicknamed 'Hitman' for his prolific run-scoring.
He plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and Mumbai in domestic cricket. Sharma holds records for the highest individual ODI score (264) and is the only player to score three double centuries in ODIs. He led India to the 2024 T20 World Cup victory.
Under his captaincy, India won the 2018 and 2023 Asia Cups, and he has been a key figure in Mumbai Indians’ five IPL titles. His leadership and consistency have made him one of India’s cricketing greats.
